Synex AI
The assistant built into Zottle: it looks up your workspace data, drafts forms and prepares actions for you — within your role.
What Synex does
Synex is the assistant built into the Zottle web app. Open it from the Synex button in the top bar (marked BETA); the conversation follows you from page to page and starts from the workspace, project or form you are working on.
- Answers questions about your workspace: it reads your projects, forms, datasets, dashboards, the review queue, members, invitations and workspace settings.
- Drafts a form: describe what you need or paste an existing questionnaire, and Synex proposes a form draft you can review, check and save in the builder.
- Checks the draft before collection: a deterministic check (no AI model) scores the form, reports errors and warnings — empty choice lists, placeholder labels, broken references — and offers one-click fixes for the common defects.
- Prepares actions: creating a project, generating an invitation link, inviting a member, changing a role, updating settings. Synex shows what it will do and waits for your confirmation.
Ask a question
Type what you want in plain language. A question that needs data is answered by reading your workspace through the API; an action is never triggered by a sentence. Synex presents a card naming the operation, and only the confirmation on that card runs it.
If your role does not grant the action, Synex does not offer the confirmation and tells you which role can do it.
Form drafts
Paste a questionnaire or describe the form you need: Synex writes a structured draft — questions, types, choices and the skip logic the builder supports — then the check reviews it. When you create the draft in a project, it is compiled and opened in the form studio, where you keep editing it.
Permissions and safety
Synex never decides permissions. It asks the API what you are allowed to do — the same rules the interface uses — and every call it makes carries your session, so the API enforces them again. A refusal is reported as a refusal: nothing is presented as a success.
Because the checks are the same, what you can do through Synex is exactly what you can do in the interface — no more.
